What is poverty?

What is poverty? Why does it still exist? In what ways are global organizations dealing with and combating it?
One way of adressing the issue, are the SDGs, especially the SDG#1 „No poverty“. SDG - three letters that stand for the hope of transforming our world for the better: written in a process involving civil society and adopted by the United Nations the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) came into force on 1 January 2016. Since we do not have a planet B, global sustainability has got to be our plan A.
The event is part of a lecture series about the SDGs and will be held in English.
To participate, no prior knowledge is needed.

Wir sind eine Gruppe von Studierenden der TU Dresden aller Fachrichtungen und Semester, die sich für Klima-gerechtigkeit engagieren. Kipppunkte, sozialökologische Krise und endloses Wachstum vs. planetare Grenzen – uns allen ist bewusst, dass ganzheitlich gedachter Klima- und Umweltschutz die Grundlage unserer Zukunft ist. Deshalb setzen wir uns an der TU Dresden für Nachhaltigkeit, gesellschaftliche Transformation und einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Ressourcen ein.
